• Gil Leeds is a Certified Civil Trial attorney who has practiced at Schenck Price for over 45 years. He has been named to the Super Lawyers list published by Thomson Reuters each year since the inception of this designation.

    Gil chaired the Firm’s Litigation Department for 25 years. He was also on the Management Committee at Schenck Price for several terms throughout his tenure.

    His practice includes representing product manufacturers in product liability suits (including Raytheon, Electrolux, Amana, Frigidaire, Tappan, Murray of Ohio and Cavagna North America), defending employers in employment litigation, defending professionals (doctors, attorneys, insurance agents, architects) in malpractice lawsuits, defending construction litigation as well as defending thousands of insureds through their carriers in all types of civil lawsuits. Gil also handles public entity defense and has represented the State of New Jersey in defending many tort, employment and false arrest cases.

    Gil has served as National Coordinating Counsel for an insurance company in construction defect cases, coordinating all local counsel in defense of major construction litigation nationwide. He has also been included on the roster of court-appointed mediators through the Administrative Office of the Courts

    Since becoming Of Counsel, Gil has concentrated on providing strategic advice to his clients and the attorneys who serve them. 

    Gil has alwasy been involved in social service and community affairs. This includes having sat on the boards of the Red Cross (former chapter chair of the Morris Area), the Randolph YMCA (former chapter chair), the Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs and the advisory board of the United Way. He is currently on the board of the Montclair YMCA.

    • Successful defense of insurance agent in case in which plaintiff claimed client responsible for approximately $1 million for claimed failure to offer insurance coverage for accident. Obtained case dismissal at trial level which both Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court affirmed
    • Successful defense of defendant physician in medical malpractice case in which plaintiff lost three limbs as the result of an infection. Obtained case dismissal on motion before trial court and case affirmed on appeal
    • Representing a mid-sized New Jersey law firm in defense of a New York legal malpractice action, obtained numerous successful decisions from the Trial Court, the First Department and New York's Court of Appeals
