Sarah Townsend is an Associate in SPSK’s Estate, Gift & Charitable Planning and Elder and Special Needs Practice Groups, focusing her practice primarily on estate planning and estate administration. Sarah develops comprehensive estate plans and helps individuals navigate the complexities of estate and trust tax planning, estate and trust administration, special needs planning and elder law planning. She prepares numerous estate planning documents and sophisticated wealth preservation vehicles, including but not limited to: last wills and testaments, revocable living trusts, advanced directives in health care, powers of attorney, special needs trusts, spousal lifetime access trusts, and irrevocable life insurance trusts.
Prior to joining Schenck Price, Sarah worked as an attorney in the tax, trusts and estates department of a large, well-known law firm, as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Esther Salas, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and as a Department of Children and Families, Appellate Section Intern at the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General – Department of Law and Public Safety.
Sarah has a B.A. in Public Relations, highest distinction, and a B.A. in History, highest distinction, from the Pennsylvania State University, and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School (Newark). She was also Editor-in-Chief for the Rutgers University Law Review (Newark).
