For its June Initiative, the Social Action Committee collected food donations for Brown Bag Buddies. During the school year, Brown Bag Buddies provides nutritious food packages to children for the weekend when they may not otherwise have access to such food. Throughout the summer months, the need for nutritious food can be even greater, when children may not be getting the nutrition provided by school lunches.

Our attorneys and staff collected items including cereal boxes, crackers, granola bars, fruit cups, raisins, applesauce, peanut butter, mac ‘n cheese, juice boxes and milk boxes, spaghetti & meatballs, and pretzels and created 150 individual “brown bags” with multiple items to be distributed to the children in need.

We were happy to partner with the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County and Bergen Volunteers for our Brown Bag Buddies initiative.
